Default code 6 diagnosing help!

93 si prelude DOHC F22B

i pulled a code 6 on my prelude or i think it was 6, the engine temp sensor, anyways the sensor is bad because it wont turn on my fan so i overheat at a stop, forcing to drive with heater on hah. anyways is there a way to test these? i mean its a piece of metal screwed into a block, then the sensor clip to harness. what usualy goes wrong? and dont we have 2 of these? any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced!
