4th gen Prelude Tire sizes and options
I'm looking at getting some tires this weekend and I've never bought any because I'm new to this stuff...
ANYWAYS, stock wheels are 255/50/15 and I was trying to find something that looks good and I was told 215/50/15 would fit and look nice. Any opinions or experiences?
Fitting?
Look?
Noise?
Bumpy?

are u sure the stock size wasnt 195/55-15 ? and this is for 88-91 prelude, right?
you can use 205/50-15 or 205/45-16 if you want to step up the size... those tire sizes should be fine.
as for tires, i like the kuhmo spt summer tire personally but then you may need summer and winter tires depending on your year around climate

Sorry I meant to ask, but was too tired to think correctly... would 215/50/15 work well in replacing 205/55/15? Would they fit and look nice?

Stick with 205/55-15. The problem with 215/50-15 is that it's an oddball size, and only a few tires (all crappy) are available in it.

Good call. I was looking for some tires but I don't know the brands to trust. Now I'm going to go against all protocol and ask which are good if I don't want to spend top dollar? Like $500 give or take a hundred for all four tires? (Imma do a search after I post this, my computer is running like... a celica)
Will you be using these in occasional snow during the winter, or do you have a separate set of tires (or another vehicle) for those occasions?
If you have to use them in occasional snow as well as in warm weather the rest of the year, you'll need all-seasons. I recommend the Kumho ASX, $72/tire in 205/55-15 at the Tire Rack.
If you don't have to use them in snow, only in moderate to warm temperatures, you can use summer tires. I recommend the Fuzion ZRi, $70/tire in 205/55-15 at the Tire Rack.

Thanks. I'm going to use them in the snow. Looks like I'm going to get the Kumho ASX tires. It'll be about a week or so and I'll get back on and say what I think.
