Default If you have problem with aftermarket header gasket PLEASE READ

Hello everyone i have an obx 4-2-1 header i recently took car to shop to get another high flow cat put on. Well to make a long story short these damn idiots messed up the gasket from header to Y pipe(unsure what to call this portion) I called OBX and several other header companies looking for a gasket (they are pretty much the same) no luck at all. Everybody recommended high temp silcone which purchased from a exhaust shop. tried this it lasted me 2 weeks. Im sure many of you know this but for those who dont you can get on mr gasket website and search for dealer in your area. What you want is part number 77 exhaust gasket material. Warning some dealers are a holes and wont sell but im pretty sure you will find one that will. i paid 7 bucks for a 10x10 which i think its great to get this thing sealed up. At the time i didnt care if it was $50 bucks i was in a bind. All you have to do is cut your shape and install. It works great its been a month and i recommend to anyone thats have same problem or purchased a used head with no gaskets. Posted because maybe im blind and didnt see in search and is very complicated to find something to seal if silcone high temp doesnt work. I hope i have help someone out there My Vehicle is 01 accord 4cyl ex

If the #77 is the white material I am thinking of, it will probably turn brittle, crack, and fall from the joint. IIRC #5960 is the UltraSeal line which is steel reinforced graphite. It is a much better product.

Just wanted to give my 2 cents here.
A long time ago i had a problem with a gasket on my car, from "y" pipe to piping and... had used JB weld for high temperature. It works for a 2 days, maybe 3... After that, it will dry up so much.. that it will just simply come off in chunks... Couldn't find the proper gasket on any auto parts store, no one seemed to have, finally... was able to find the part needed at tasauto.com
So... JB weld stuff.... only for moment fix.. not an actual repair.
