Default will a 96-98 auto civic ecu work on a 97 auto prelude?

will it drive and if it does is it okay to drive it temporily?

The transmission won't shift because the TCM is looking for a digital signal from the P5M ECU.

so the 96 auto civic ecu does not send out signal? wouldnt both being automatic solve that?

The Civic ECU controls the transmission directly. The Prelude uses an outboard TCM. It will not work.

what about an obd II integra ls auto ecu?
