Default 4Doors Vs. 2Doors

Simple question. If i plan on tuning up an Integra GS-R (Not sure what year), will a 2door teg and a 4door make a big difference in speed? I mean, i wanna go as fast as possible but i cant find any coupes in my price range, will the 4 door have a large impact on speed performance or just a little bit?

Thanks

very little bit Maybe 1/10th in the quarter mile IF that. Pick the car based on your preference because they both perform about the same.

if i remember correctly, the 4dr has a more rigid chasis. weight wont be that different. going fast with a 4dr will be the same as if it were a 2dr.

being a 2dr or 4dr has nothing to do with oversteer.

I think I have heard that, too, but the difference is negligible. Won't give you any benefits.

Yes, you're wrong.

4 door is 400 pounds heavier and that is about 4 10ths or .4 slower in the quarter mile..

No, they're not 400 lbs heavier. Do you really think a 4-door Integra weighs in at 3100 lbs?

The weight difference is ~60-100 lbs, depending on the trim.

a lot of people say having a longer wheelbase is easier to control during aggressive driving so there might be some truth to the "fishtailing at high speeds" theory mentioned earlier. i believe this wheelbase thing was also mentioned in a best motoring video when they were putting the type R coupe/sedan vs other cars of its' time but unfortunately something happened to the sedan during testing. i don't know any of this for sure first hand. never had the chance to beat up a sedan to compare. should probably ask the road racing/autocross forum.

Thanks </TD></TR></TABLE>

you should pick what you like, not on what is faster
any one can build a motor to be fast.

i allway thought the two door had a more rigid chasis cause the two rear doors arnt welded shut and theres more open volume. might be wrong though

get a 3 door!!! (non 4dr tegs are hatchbacks, not coupes)

and 4drs do have more chasis rigidity, but its definitely not noticeable. aren't they only like 100 pounds heavier? always wanted a 4dr gs-r.

the 2drs look so so so much better, imo the 4 drs r ugly, as far as weight, i work at a scale house and i own a 2dr 94 integra and weighed it and it weighed 2600lbs, my buddy's 95 4 dr weighed 2725lbs, but mine has no spare tire in the back, and his has a system in it with a heavy sub, so i'd say both stock they'd be very close

true enough, i've seen lots of 4 dr cars around town here (not integra's) that look bomb, but like i said IMO the 2 dr integra's look way better. and i was just making the point that there very close in weight

4 Doors are damn awesome. I love the space that mine offers, plus the comfort of not having to fold my chair down if I need to give someone a ride. I kinda hate re-adjusting my seat every time.

Of course, this is to all my preferences.
