Default how do you charge the air conditioning system?

i have a 94 teg. if you just installed an a/c system, is it neccessary to have a shop vacumn/charge it? or can you just get refrigerant with a kit and do it yourself? just want to know if its mandatory or if its possible to just do it myself. Thanks

well you could go to your local autostore and buy the refrigerant with the gauge that tell you if you need to or not. hoped that helps

you're supposed to vaccumm out all the pressure in the lines.

-200 psi high side
-29-30 psi low side

and then a proper charge in teh low side..
