You dont have nearly enough for a proper running turbo setup. You said its a daily driver so you dont want to skimp on parts/tuning.

You can do an lsvtec setup within your budget and it deffinatly will give you some more power. But dont expect crazy power and runing 10's on an lsvtec setup unless you have alot more money to spend.

I can disagree. Many people piece together decent turbo setups for less than 2000 dollars. You just have to shop smart.

ya umm 2500 is about right for a decent turbo setup. ive got a friend whos got a built ls-vtec and hes told me that if he could go back hed boost it. you get way more bang for your buck with turbo just make sure you run low psi and dont get pulled over

I piecing my turbo kit together, I have everything except for the turbo. Some of the stuff I bought used.

*used*AFI ramhorn mani, downpipe and dumptube - 600
Tial 38mm wastegate - 220
hks ssqv bov ver.2 - 200
*used*Precision 350hp Intercooler - 150
Intercooler piping - 150
Precision 525cc injectors - 260
Walbro 255 fp - 100

soon to purchase garrett .57 trim t3/t4 .63 a/r - 600, give or take

So there you have it. You'd still have to cover the cost of having your downpipe welded and the price of getting it tuned.

Also, it can be cheaper if you went with a cheaper cast iron or log style manifold.

I'd just go a simple turbo kit, or buy one premade like a Rev Hard Stage 2. People run those all the time making about 225-250'ish HP on stock internals, and DD that stuff. Just don't turn up the boost or try for crazy HP gains and you'll be fine.

I'm pretty much in the same situation as you. I've pretty much decided on swapping b18c1 so i have the reliability of a stock honda motor.

Don't do ebay setup. You will run into more problems than it's worth with ebay.

b18c would be the best way to keep it reliable add some bolts on for decent power IMO

the best thing to do is save your money and find ways to prevent your car from getting stolen. all those things attract too much attention. i had to learn the hard way...
