Heard that timing has to be increased after milling a head.

Would you advance timing via the distributor or through camgears?

First readjust the camshaft timing with the camgears and then readjsut the ignition timing with the distributor and a timing light. Every time you play with the intake camshaft you should readjust the ingniton timing. You should do this on a dyno for optimal performance.
