Default Parts Compatability

I hit a curb in my 5th gen and pretty much everything under the front passenger side wheel well needs replacement (steering/suspension) are 4th gen parts compatible or were they built differently?

Also if anybody knows someone parting out the front right suspension/steering assembly let me know. Thanks!

But what about the suspension, control arms, tie rods, etc. I would need a 5 lug spindle for sure.

I would hit up the red search function. I think I have seen posts on the swaps being done. Some people convert their 4 bolt pattern 4th gen to a 5 bolt patter 5th gen. I think I remember a slight bit of modification when it came to the splines and the shaft, but I can't remember 100%. Maybe not. Either way, theres topics some where in H-T. Check archived aswell!

yes most of the stuff is the same. i converted my 4 lug to 5 lug. i read once that the 5th gen front assemblies make the tires sit in just a hair more than than the 4th gen assemblies. i can not tell by looking at it and i have never heard nothing else about it.

also on the 5th gen axle slot, you need to have a washer, to take up all the play in the axle. so, if you install a 4th on a 5th then you maybe "stretching" your axle.

sorry i can not give you def answers, but hopefully this will help. to me all the problems i mention are small problems. you could prob run this set for a while and see what problems develop. just start putting some money back to redo it if the problems get to be too big.
