clutch squeaking
5th gen:
I noticed this morning that when I pushed down the clutch I would hear a squeaking noise like something needs to be lubricated. (i dont believe its the clutch pedal as it was louder coming from the outside.)
The reason why I am a little concerned is because I am making a 350 mile trip to las vegas this weekend and I dont want to break down on the way there.
Any info would be great
Thanks guys

This may or may not help, but mine has always squeaked from the beginning. It's got to be either the big clutch spring or the clutch release fork. I don't think it's a problem though....
As long as I baby it and stay at 65mph I should be ok...
Hopefully I dont get the urge to get into VTEC especially, in that vegas heat...
Oh well, if something happens...what can you do about

Try lubricating the point where the slave cylinder comes in contact with the shifter fork. There is a ball end that usually rusts up and starts to squeek. Id recommend some white lithium grease or dura blue and that should solve the problem. I have done it many times with other friends cars and it fixes them right up,good luck.

The sqeaking is a very common issue. And its not an issue thats going to leave you stranded.

this happens to me whenever its humid outside. I'm on my 2nd Lude and it does the same thing. Im going to try to lubricate it.
