Default Engine Build Questions - Cylinder Bore, piston size, ring gap after cylinder honing.

I understand the basics of measuring the cylinder bore to see if it's in spec for the pistons. I also get measuring the pistons to ensure that they're in spec as well.

If I'm rebuilding a motor (K20a2) and want to hone the cylinders, is that going to remove material to the point where I'd have to be concerned about ITR pistons fitting correctly or will the piston rings make up for the slight amount of removed material?

Also, if I'm having a bottom end hot tanked and honed, what else should I have done if I'm doing a complete rebuild? I've done a few searches but it's hard to find enough information to take seriously.

TIA

Steve
