Default H23 help. need help with vtec

i know i have an H23 block.
but my head is a P14( i don't know if its vtec)
if someone can shine some light on a P14 that would be great.

The story behind the car is that i bought a car with 200k on the car, but only 30k on the motor. he said he bought it in Texas and drove it out here. well on the way it blew up. so he rebuilt that motor and now its 30 over with roller rockers and a header. He claims he put a vtec head on it or vtec cams in it but i just don't know. it pulls really hard through all the gears. The RPM's seems to stop about 7k. It has lots of power in the low range. It just doesn't seem to be a vtec.

i don't know how a VTEC would act on a H23 block. If its a vtec head at all

Does it or does it not say "VTEC" on your valve cover. It's very simple....

No, man, if the valve cover doesn't say VTEC the engine is not a VTEC engine.

No, and if they did it wouldn't make it have VTEC. Why would you even ask that question????

Please learn what VTEC is and how variable valve timing systems work before you post anymore.

if your h23 is indeed a vtec, its simple to tell. the block will be stamped with H23A (not A1), and your head will say v-tec and will be blue in color. it will also be stamped with a p13 on the head. I know, i have one .
