93 accord no start
okay i got a 93 accord sohc off a buddy of mine. he says it just died one day and he doesnt know why. with key on, it cranks, but there is no sound coming from the fuel pump, also I removed the banjo bolt on the rail, and there is no fuel with key on or while cranking. I have guessed that it is a bad fuel pump, but wont really know without dropping the tank and checking voltage at the top. is there another place i can check the power going to the pump other than the top of the tank? that way i can rule out bad pump or bad relay or bad whatever. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
check your main relay. That controls the fuel pump also. It is under the driver side dash and looking at it from the bottom it is rectangular and has a brown plug. check that first before you start pulling **** apart
okay what is the test procedure for that main relay? and what else does it control>? i dont have a Haynes manual, the auto parts store near my house is sold out of that one. wont have one for like 2 weeks. sucks sometimes living in hawaii....
the only quick test i know for the fuel pump relay is tapping it while trying to crank the car.sometimes that helps,in the meantime you can check the power to your fuel pump from inside the car.take out the foliding part of your rear sent.you should see the cap(held in by 3screws) theres a two wire plug there.its for the pump.that may save you some work dog.let me know.
no that cap is the fuel level sender isnt it? i ran a check on the pump and its not getting power, also with key on, i have power at the back of the coil, but no spark coming out when cranking. so what could cause the system to not have spark signal and no fuel pump signal?!?!?!?! i am lost! i inspected the main relay and saw no problems. it didnt have any of the signs of a bad relay and from what the PO said, he bought this one brand new off ebay.
