well i don't know how mechanically inclined you are, but i would just see if the guy will let you change the stuff in his driveway. but if that's not an option, pay to have it towed. you don't want an axle snapping on you while you're driving your new lude home...

First of all, I just want to say what a great choice for your first car.
.. and now ..
Sorry to be like this, but I just had to ... you just graduated high school, so you have to be like 17-18 years old, the car costs about $3,000, and you don't have enough funds to pay for it yourself ?, and you want your dad to pay for it ?? No job, or just lazy ?

That guy on Craigslist ain't too bright, but $3200 isn't that bad as long as the car runs and was decently taken car of. Look at it and if you like it go for it

not a bad way to start learing about your car by fixing the half shaft. hope everything can work out for you man. grats on the car if you get it.

HAHA I tell my buddy that drives a GTI that all the time. Back on topic: I say fix the car in the guys driveway if he will let you and try and talk him down on the price. If he won't let you fix it at his place just get a tow dolly and tow it home. Fourth gen FTMFW.

offer him 2500. You can tell he beats the **** out of it. I bang the shieat out of my 1993 prelude and its still on all origional axles/tranny/rear suspension/wheel bearings. I've dropped a motor in because of the crank pulley shearing off the key way on my first one at approx 20000kms, but it was already even wobbling origionally when I bought it (120000)kms.

You'll love it, just don't beat the *** outa it or none of us give you advice about how to fix it. We'll just laugh and say another one bites the dust. And seeing how your likely gonna wanna turbo that biach like every other high schooler with a lude, you may as well start reading in the FI forum (forced induction) before you post any questions lol . Enjoy
4th gen rocks!
