Need an opinion in getting my next car
Here's the scenario. I have the chance right now to get a 96 GSR theft recovery shell which basically needs just a motor swap, windshield, and front calipers for $2000. Do you guys think this would be a good deal, and finish it off with a swap from the local salvage yard?
Also, there was a 98 GSR I was looking at being sold for 10,000 which is complete w/ leather interior, schumacher (sp?) rims, coilover, I/H/E, etc...
Both of these cars are salvaged (theft recovery) titles.
I'm leaning towards the chassis to build it up myself. It may cost more in the long run but I wouldn't have to dump one lump sum at one time. What do you guys think? and how are insurance rates in CA as compared to a non-salvaged vehicle? Thanks
