I need help with the air conditioning
I've got a '91 CRX HF and the air conditioner doesn't work.
I believe it was disabled and is missing parts, but I'm not sure. All I have sticking out of the firewall on the passenger side when looking under the hood are 2 black hoses that have threads on the ends as if they should be connected to something. One is about an inch in diameter and one is about 1/2". I do have the air conditioning button in my car and it does light up when I press it, but I've never had any cold air coming out of it.
If anyone has any pictures or insights that would be great.
Thanks

Okay, well after researching, it looks like the HF doesn't come with air conditioning. I'm unsure of the source I checked with because my car still has the A/C option on my heating/cooling controls.
If this is the case does anyone have any knowledge of installing air conditioners or where to get one at and how much work it entails.
I work on cars often, but a honda is new territory for me, and so is the air conditioner.
Thanks.

you will probably need a donor car for all the a/c parts...minus what you've found so far. sounds like the previous owner swapped something under the hood (engine maybe?) if you have the hoses. is there a compressor? you may have an engine swap. the climate controls probably were broke and replaced with one from an a/c car
In the summer time you'll probably be shelling out 500 bucks to get the AC going. Just freon to charge it up now is over 100 bucks at most places. It's ridiculous.
Yeah, it was an engine swap, I didn't know much about CRX's when I bought the car, but it sounds like it might have been more than just an engine swap.
So, I know there are the 3 main components of the A/C the compressor, the Condensor, and the receiver drier.
Isn't one of those in the dashboard somewhere? If so, I guess I should check to see if that is there, and maybe that would give me some more insight.
Thanks for the input guys.
