B20 Rev Problems
I am thinking about doing a CRVTec motor. The problem is is that my primary form of racing is autocrosses and lapping days and I was told by my friend who has had a crvtec motor that they have great low end torque which is good but he also said they won't rev over 8 grand. Is there anyway to remedy this?
it will rev past 8k if you have an ecu that will, but its not recommended. ive had two b20 vtecs start knocking after a couple of months of seeing 8k....
my solution was to build the block to withstand high rpms.
eagle rods or at least arp rod bolts work fine, since the stock bolts on mine came loose causing my knocking.
so well i was at it i upgraded pistons, and used an LS micropolished crank...everything fine ever since

Thanks--like I said I plan on autocrossing it and I want to use those higher revs but I also want the low end torque so I was thinking about doing this--as long as there are things I can do to make it more reliable than I will probably go this route
tuning, rod bolts and clearances...need all 3 to get the motor to rev passed 8k rpms for sure. i'd post up my dyno sheet but...heh...people are sick of it already
