Default What Valvetrain setup??????

Whats up guys, trying to figure out which setup you guys reccomend for a 95 GSR, I'm thinking of going with Omni power valve springs,Omni Power Titanium Retainer, Omni Power Intake And Exhaust Valves. Also drop in some Blox cam gears type B, and Im not sure to get AEM cam gears or Blox cam gears.

My current setup is

68mm Blox Throttle
Blox Intake manifold
Costum 3in. intake
stock header
AEM Pulleys

Thanks!!!

What is your power goal? OEM valves can usually handle most all motor builds. You should definately get an aftermarket header and exhaust to let those cams breath better.

you're going to need more compression to hit 200 man...my set-up on a JDM ITR motor with rocket m22x cams, valve springs and retainers made barely over 200...and thats with 11.6:1 compression as oppose to 10:1 which is what i think the gsr is at

Sadly, I knew what you meant here...

You are going to be quite a bit off your 200 whp mark I'm afraid friend. Your compression is low, you haven't done any headwork, you need a header period but more importantly a GOOD header, you will need some sort of engine management, I've never heard of your intake, you didn't list any exahust mods which leads me to believe you still have a cat and resonator and stock muffler.

I'm guessing 170s.

On a good GSR with bolt-ons, most only hit about 170 to 180 whp. It would be a very big stretch for you to hit 200whp with a GSR and bolt-ons. To hit that number, you would need do some engine building. Search, the dyno thread at the top of the forum.
