Default Oil Light + No reading in Pan, But there is Infact, OIL.

On my 94 acura Stock LS Automatic, my dipstick never really shows any oil on it.
The oil light came on again today, I turned the car off and back on as I have done b4 and the light goes away. It is only once in a while.

When i drain the oil there is indeed several quarts of oil.

Not sure what is going on but it did it for a while now so i dont think its the oil pump or i would have already been screwed? When i did an oil change a few weeks ago it did read fine.. regardless of cold or hott now i cannot get a reading on the dipstick

Can be this be the oil screen? The car has 159k. And where is the screen?

maybe you just have the wrong dipstick in there and your oil pump is possibly going bad? use a dip stick from another integra and let us know.

i tried another dipstick, no good.

This morning i checked it cold, it read at the low several times

After i ran it i waited a few minutes and checked it, not a drop on the dipstick.

Have you changed the oil and put the correct amount of oil in it and checked it right after?

Possible you have wrong size oil pan on there?

Perhaps an oil return passage is blocked. Remove the oil fill cap and look in the valve cover for a pool of oil.

how much oil would be under the valve cover, ive taken it off b4 and there isnt more then what would normally be..

like right now it would read as none, cold it may read some..

this has happened b4 and when i drain it there is defitnitley oil

also i dont notice smoke so i dont think its burning really, high rpm's seems to give a small smell but not any visible smoke.. the oil i just changed few hundred miles ago along with the filter.. the oil always seems to be a bit dark in color more then normal as if maybe it is getting stuck in the engine but how would it drain so much.. idk.. its crazy

Any signs of sludge? If the oil level is slow to recover after running the engine, it is getting trapped somewhere.

if the car sits for a while does a reading come up on the dipstick?

Because if not i would suggest an oil return passage is blocked, and once it circulates it dosnt fall back down to the pan.

maybe try using a engine cleaner like sea foam or somthing and run it in the oil for a little while
