Default d16a6 camshaft

I have looked everywhere for a performance cam for this engine. I cannot seem to find one except at Gude and they never replied to my email. If anyone could drop me a link of where I could find one it would be appreciated.

How do you like the power of it? Did you got the stage 1?

keep in mind the crane piece is made from fresh cores rather than the others (gude, bullfrog, presumably exospeed) which are all regrinds

i wont go into the negatives of regrinds but its something to think about

as far as regrinds. it all depends on the grind and specs. the gude ones tend to wear out.
but i have had over 100,000 miles on my motor with the cam.(thats on top of the 60K miles it had already when i got the motor) i had driven the D16a6 for 4 yrs everyday all over socal from weekly street races(palmsprings to sylmar), to work, to home, and everywhere else.

from day one the motor ran 13.6 on just head work. and up until i stopped driving it end of last yr, it was still doing 13.6 no loss of power there. and thats with over 100,000 miles of racing/daily driving.

Wil

on the other hand, dohc cams do wear out. every one i've seen have flattened out.

oh yeah im not saying regrinds are all bad but its something to consider
i know someone who had an old jackson racing regrind cam in his d16 for something like 80k km's and it never gave him any problems

I'm thinking of getting cams but my engine is kinda old now.. Well it's still in top shape no leaks and it doesn't eat oil.. My question do you recommend putting cams to a 10 yrs old engine. I just like the stage 1 cam for daily use...

i actually like the crane, its the lowest one i think the part number is 251-0010, idle is a little worse and i get a little worse gas mileage but i don't care. as far as putting a new cam in an old engine mine is an 88 si with 170,000 miles on it when i put it in. overall i'm happy with it, didn't lose mad power in the lower rpm's, and pulls strong up to redline(actually feels like it needs another 500 rpm to take advantage of it).

basically all your internals are stock except for the cams and valve spring? I think I like the sound of that...Also do I need a cam gear if I install a perfomance cams?

Ill second that.... meaning the WEB CAM.. I love mine... Stock idle.. with very nice mid-range and top end pull.. Excellent quality. Ive had a JG cam before, and it performed no where near the WEB cam... One thing about Web.. is the great idle.
While im not really sure about the power gains, but its butt dyno approved

do you need to send your cam in to get it reground at web cam? or do they just send a whole cam?

also, how much is it? price around?

and do you loose low end at all? from 1000-3000rpm limit?
