Default 2000 Accord ex - accident and no air bag deployed!

Had an accident the other day (bimbo pulled out in front of me) I hit the wheel of there SUV/Tank with my front drivers side bumber. I was going about 30 mph. The airbag did not deploy much to my surprise as saftey is why I bought the car. I am still sore 3 days later!

I had turned the engine off before I got out to look at the damages when I got back in and restarted it the SRS light was on we pulled out of the intersection and turned it off again. When restarted the light was NOT on. What is the use of airbags if they don't deploy in an accident? What the hell is the use of having the SRS light come on THEN after I needed the airbags to tell me there was a problem with them.

The light has only come on if I have a package on the passenger seat wiht no seatbelt. OTher than that, only when you first turn the car on and all light are illuminated.

Please help, hard to trust the insurance company they don't want me to go to the dealer but to a body shop.

I have had the Tranny replaced under warrenty but they never said anything about any other recalls.

ya might want to talk to a lawyer first before you do anything. Might be a lawsuit in there somewhere.

1) 30mph is not that fast for an airbag to deploy
2) It depends on exactly how it was hit, there are computers that check it - my guess is for the most part it'd be direct head on's that cause them to deploy
3) The SRS system may have had problems with it for the light to come on - you could have the unit checked at a honda dealer
4) Be thankful those bags didn't go off, you'd be hurting more in $$ than you think, if both deployed + damage the car could be close to totalled.
