Which car should be in the garage??
well my house has a 1 car garage. and my ITR slept in it everyday. but my father purchased a 98 Prelude SH and hes convinced that they would steal his car before mine because his has no alarm. so that my ITR should sleep outside. with my alarm and all does my car still have a higher chance of being stolen? i have the alarm and the clutch lock. ive tried convincing him that my car is still a bigger target for theft but he insists theyd steal his because it has no alarm
definitely the ITR! you're dad must not known how rare an ITR is now.
a poll will convince your dad about your situation.
you should gather all the stories of stolen ITRs compared to preludes, that would convince him too.

For reals. I live in SF and if I had an ITR, I'd have someone keep an eye on that thing while I sneezed--there's no way I would EVER leave it parked outside for even a fraction of a second. Parking it somewhere besides a garage overnight is absolutely out of the question IMO.
And on the flipside, there are a few nice looking Preludes parked downtown everyn night where my buddy's 93 Si was stolen.
ITR = biggest theft target ever. Prelude = no one cares. Does anyone else think this is a no brainer?
PS. Alarms do nothing. Do a search for 'stolen' and pretty much every car that gets stolen has an alarm.

LMAO
no question here, i have a 2 car garage, and the woman's S2k and the R go in everynight, and the '08 Accord sits in the driveway, rain wind hail whatever.
gotta look at it as wich cars can be EASILY replaced? im my case, if the Accord get f-ed up, we can go right down to the dealership and get a new one.

well i'ma look at it this way.
Thieves know its a b*tch as swap a H22, but B18c5 on the other hand is less of a b*tch.
Get the prelude alarm and call is a day!

Your father has no rhyme or reason as to why his completely undesireable (to thieves) car should occupy the garage, other than some outdated notion from the 70's that car alarms actually work. If you lose the garage, you lose the R. It's cut and dry.

If your dad still isn't convinced, bring him here to HT and he can ask thousands of Honda owners.
If the ITR still sits outside...he is an ignorant greedy bastard.

although if it was my dad, he would say it is his garage so his car gets to stay inside....
i would agree that the itr is 100x more prone to theft and should be garaged every night when possible

canuckr and I were talking about this at VIR. We agreed that if one had a Radical, a GT3 RS and an ITR, but only one garage bay, the ITR would be in the garage.
So my vote goes to the ITR hands down, who steals a gheylude anyways?

the itr should obv be the one in the garage. it would be smart to just lave the prelude in the driveway as bait. the prelude is a **** load easier to replace than an itr. a smart theif wouldnt want to bother with a h22 swap anyway. i agree with everyone else. just buy him a pos alarm to help him sleep at night.
I'm of the opinion that the person who owns the garage gets to park in it, but the ITR is far more likely to be stolen than the Prelude. Even your insurance company can tell you that.
