a/c question
I have a 92 Honda Civic dx hatch with a z6 swap.
the when i did the swap i let all r134 out. I left the a/c system open for a couple of months, which i know was a mistake but i got it closed up and nice and sealed with no leaks. Now that its summer, I got it evacuated and recharged. It blows ice cold now and feels great. Theres just one problem, when i turn the a/c on and the compressor kicks on.. .the motor bogs down and wants to stall. To temporarily fix the problem i just turned my idle up. So now my idle is up really high while not using the a/c, but when i turn it on its normal.
Could this be the IACV? or the compressor starting to lock up? any help would be appreciated

your compressor is starting to bind up and putting a big load on the motor. if you continue to run it, it will shred internally and fill the lines with shavings, which will ruin your entire a/c system. replace the compressor asap.
Did you add oil when you recharged it? Compressors need oil. Being open for a couple of months you should have dumped out all the old oil since it would have been saturated with moisture (refrigerant oil is very hygroscopic and sucks moisture up like no tomorrow).
