H22a swap?
Ok I have been doing some thinking. I was thinking of buying a hatch hull and dropping my turbo h22a in it. I want to do some allot of research before I do such a thing. Are there any good sites that have the info I am looking for? I figured I could put mine back to stock. Buy another lude from a junkyard; get the tranny and all that I would need. Since I got the hondata, zex and everything else for the h22a I am set. But the prelude is a little bit heavy. So I thought I could make a killer sleeper civic

the swap wasnt really that bad. All the shops i went to said "are you sure you wanna do this on your own???? This is a major swap" This swap isnt that hard not much more than my b16 swap. just some cutting for the shifting cables and the tranny mount. This swap is well worth it and my car still corners good. My b16 conered better but thats because i had my Z10 bars and now the oilpan is in the way and i can no longer use them. Also theres lots of room for a turbo but your ganna have to get rid of your A/C if you wanna go turbo. but then again anything can be done with the right amount of money
Why not? If you beefed up the suspension? Wouldnt it be a fair handlng car?i would not reccoment this swap and not turboed

Alot of these people are talking out of there ***. Ive auctually done it and love it. I havent seen anyone who has done it and hate the handling. If your worried about the weight up front get a speaker box or somthing and put it in the trunk. the majority of the weight is pushed futher behind the front suspension compensating for the weight. and even if you add 70 pound to the rear ( even though you dont need to) it will still be faster than any other motor. The type r motor has hp numbers close(still less than the h22) and lack a lot of the torque that h22 has plenty of for a civic.

I'm not even thinking of the turbo, I wouldn't even do the swap. For the price of that motor swap alone, cause of all the work it takes, it's cheaper by a little to swap a ITR motor. Not by much, but you can find the deal if you look hard enough. I've seen the two race each other.....ITR swap is the winner! My $.02, had to say it.
the h22a is considered the big block of honda's. and if i am correct, it makes the front end quite heavy. not good for turning. the car was not ment for that kind of weight and blance no matter what suspension it has
Oh man... here we go again. Read my post about Road Racing a H22 hatch... actually drives great on the track:
