Default Drove through almost two feet of water, WWTHD?

Yeah so tonight, driving down one of the back roads during the torrential downpour, I suddenly found myself in almost two feet of standing water. I killed the engine, but apparently it was already too late. The car ran like **** for two hours, not really accelerating when I gave it gas, and sometimes even stalling when I did. I retrieved some CEL codes that it threw, and even though it seemingly runs fine now the CEL is still flashing, supposedly meaning I am still misfiring. Anybody know what I should check for tomorrow, if it's not raining all day and I can pop the hood and look around? The only CEL that has a meaning I can find is one that says the VTEC solenoid is malfunctioning. WTF, that is way higher than the level of water was, so how could that be screwed? The three codes that I can't find anywhere are: P1002, P0291, and P3102 BTW. I used an OBD2 Scangauge btw, so those codes aren't my CEL interpretation, that's what it actually reads out. I'm going to take the dizzy cap off first thing, but other than that I don't really know what to check for besides the normal stuff like the air filter etc. The car has the stock air intake, which has a bypass valve that doesn't allow very much air into the engine in the event of submergence I assume?

take the dizzy cap off and let it dry. thats all that happened. then go to advanced auto and get the programmer to reset the code.

i don't drive my car in the rain at all, but heres what i would do.

if you have car knowledge check the compression. if not take it to a shop. unfortunately tomorrows sunday so you will most likely have to wait until monday for that. number 2 remove the distributor cap and check for moisture. if you see some let it dry out and pray.

since you're gonna be removing the cap, you might as well replace it. i'd suggest to go ahead and do a little tune up

Thanks for the ideas. Looks like letting it sit in the sun is out of the question for the near future; I live in SE WI: http://weather.yahoo.com/img/u....html I think I'll call the landlord tomorrow and ask if I can keep the car in the underground garage for a few days; after winter is over there are always open spots down there. Then I'll remove all the spark plugs and do a compression test, which will kill two birds with one stone since I'll be forcing out any water that may still be in the cylinders.

Anybody have any idea why my vtec solenoid would be malfunctioning if it was higher than the water level?

Once you are done messing with things, reset the ecu. It may not be throwing codes anymore.

Yeah, this is what I had to do to pass emissions when I first bought the car it needed a tuneup and the random misfire code came on, then like 10 months later it failed emissions because it was still stored

But would it throw a code for vtec solenoid malfunction every time though?

It happened on the north side of Racine, near 3 mile and Erie

Well, I've got good news. After it stopped pouring, I took the car underground and popped the hood. Nothing was visibly wet, and there were no signs of water or residue in the air box anywhere, the filter was dry also. So, I cleared the codes, took it for a 10 minute drive, and it drove fine with no codes popping at all. It even allowed me to hit mad v-atak so I know everything is good

Yea there was a lot of flooding in racine last night, and it looks like tonight will be no different. They closed the road in front of my house because the drain clogged again which happens to be right at the end of my drive way.

But I made it home before that happened so it was all good.

If there's a low spot in the direct path of the intake, then you need to empty out that section of tubing or it will still suffocate the engine for air.
