i get one 92 prelude. i recently dropped in a jdm h22.
the car starts but sounds kinda like a lawnmower. i pop it in first, i gas it and it drives. but when i try to pound it, it kinda lags like im running a big *** turbo but im not. i keep pounding it and after it lags for a bit(3-5 seconds) the power comes back and starts flying.
what causes the lag?
its weird, i slapped in new plugs and wires, still does it. i checked my trans fluid since i was looking under the car for the lawnmower noise. trans oil was kinda low so i added.
i appreciate it if anyone can help.

check your spark plugs you may have gotten water in there or mybe they are gapped wrong

 

i changed the spark plugs yesterday.
they are gapped .44.
i even changed the spark plug wires.
could this be a tranny or clutch problem?

 

might wanna loosen the bolts with a 12mm wrench on the dizzy and time it from there. go back counter closewise with the whole dizzy

 

Check your header area and see if the piping leads to a round compressor with another pipe leading to your throttle body
