My air conditioning is my car is no longer ice cold. Its comes out warm. I bought a car of refridgeant and attempted to fill it up. The can said 25- 45 psi on the guage should be good. Somehow it says 100psi and my A.C is hotter then heat. I tried to release some out but I can't figure out which way the needle is supposed to go. Is 100psi mean I need more?

 

I would take your car to a shop to have them safely remove the freon from your system. Then you could refill it. It isn't good for the AC system if you over charge it with freon. I think it causes damages to the seals and what not.

 

This is why we went from the good ol' R12 to the R134.

A) Are you sure you did the right line? (I've seen some crazy sh*t, is why I'm asking)
B) You know there are two right? a High pressure and low (suction) pressure hose.
3) Why would you off-load all that crap into the ozone?
4) Did you use a scale/manifold/pressure gauge?
E) Which instructions did you follow?
Star) Did you use a vacuum pump?
Purple Dot) Are you sure it's just low refrigerant oil, and not a leak?

These home DIY kits are good if you know what you're doing. If you have no idea, it could have very very well exploded in your face, burnt you, or in some cases killed you. Relieving the pressure also isn't the greatest idea. Get it properly evacuated as the above can still happen.

Okay okay, so It's rare to die from a freak AC accident, but frost bites are no fun! DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT try to evacuate it. The Schrader Valve looking thing seems easy enough, but it's a bad idea.

(I personally don't care if you do, just a precaution for your safety)

 

Yes I know there are 2 lines. I put it in the bigger hose with the cap that had an L on it. The guage I used came on the can. The instructions said anywhere between 25 to 45 psi in the green area was alright. When I checked it again it was at 100psi and in the red. I took a screwdriver and pushed the valve in on the tube. ( looking the other way) and released it. I thought I overfilled it. The only reason I tried to do it myself it because I callled a Honda dealership they wanted over 200 bucks and I was being cheap.
