This sounds like there is either a massive vacum leak// the IACV screen is plugged up or the IACV is non functional.

If it starts fine after it dies, then it is NOT the IAC valve (Idle Air Control Valve). The only way any honda 4 cyl will get any intake air to start up is by the computer actuating the IAC- unless you give the engine air by stepping on the accelerator.

I cant diagnose your problem for sure unless I know whether its a manual, or an automatic.

If its a manual then i might suspect that your hydraulic clutch lines may have a leak, which will cause the clutch to slowly engage at a stop and kill your engine.

If its an auto then most likely its an engine specific problem. Check the easy stuff first- is your air filter clean? Keep the AC off... does it still die at idle? keep the car in neutral at a stop, does it still die out? Turn all accesories off (lights, blower motor radio ect) and see if it stays running. If doing any of these changes anything then I might be able to help from there.

Also if you can, provide some more info:

Manual or Automatic?
Engine code? (example F22A1)
A/C, yes or no?
DX, LX, EX, SE model?
how long during a drive before the problem begins?
How long at an idle before the engine dies out?
Where do you get your gas at, and what Octane rating?
Any recent service done to the car?

We'll go from there if you can get some more info- its hard to completely diagnose a car with very little info, and no car to work on!
