After a second rain delay, Michelle Wilson was in the first pair down the track in Extreme 10.5 qualifying and posted a 4.85 at just 112.01 mph that takes here into Saturday as the first-round leader. The Azle, Texas-based racer said she's surprised to be on top after battling an ill-handling race car at the top end of the track. "I had to lift when it got loose," she said. "I hope to go a lot quicker and faster tomorrow, and still stay in the number-one position." Wilson's husband, H.T. Wilson, is second, with Brent Rau third so far in his ADRL debut.

Last year, at Dragstock IV in Rockingham, NC, Brad Personett turned more than a few heads when he drove the Team Titan Scion to the Extreme 10.5 win. Personett will be hoping to turn the trick again this weekend at the 4th annual ADRL Pizza Hut Summer Drags, but this time in the Pro Extreme class behind the wheel of a '53 Corvette owned by Ed Marx. The Tim McAmis-built Vette carries a 525 cubic incher assembled by Personett and boosted by a pair of 90 mm billet-wheel turbochargers from Precision Turbo. Marx said they're still working a few bugs out, but the combination is promising and he expects a good outing at the Martin, MI, track.
----------------------------------------------------
Not a bad first hit............................
(R) Brad Personett – 4.081 et – 186.01 mph
---------------------------------------------
(L) Brad Personett – 4.921 et – 106.68 mph
(R) Johnny Pilcher – 4.139 et – 178.68 mph
Pilcher makes a clean run to jump into the show… Meanwhile Personett had the front end hiked up, drifted toward the wall, started shaking & made a hard move to the centerline… Brad did an awesome job, fighting it back & forth & getting the chutes out !!! He took out the finishline cones so we will be down just a minute…. Wow!!
Sounds like Brad's in a Double A fuel altered......dang that guy can drive

all cut and pasted from another forum----anybody have any more info or pictures of this car?
brents moving too?
got a text from Bottle.
it is Titan and Brent Rau in the final for the 10.5 Tire class -- woot, go sport compact
but it was rained out before the finals could be run.
and I guess that the Lights weren't working so they started the races with a Hand Drop
(11:23 am) OK folks, see how this grabs you... The on-track timing equipment is completely down. There are no options for repair at this point.
ADRL prez Kenny Knowling, every the innovator & never afraid to try something different, has formulated a plan for awarding winners today. We will be running retro style flag start!!! Knowling himself will hand start each competitor & first to the finish will take the win... Points will be split evenly, this will just be for bragging rights.
Hang on, this should be a interesting day!

(2:33 pm)
(L) Michelle Wilson – N/T
(R) Gary White – 4.470 et – 156.73 mph (**WINNER**)
Tough break for Wilson as the car would not fire… White with the single in the little Toyota, sounded like he lifted early…
(L) Billy Glidden – N/T
(R) Brent Rau – 6.844 et – 70.72 mph(**WINNER**)
Glidden headed home after the first round so Rau had the single & appeared he may have hurt something in the process…
