Default weird thing i saw at work....

yesterday at work.. there is a eg hatch.. with a zc bottom end... but it has a stock d series top end...

and it looks to be running a stock d-series trans... if so is this a popular swap? changing the motor in the car back to stock.. d-15b7 boss doesn't want zc bottom end.. s i was going to do that swap for myself.. sohc on zc bottom.. if it works

maybe thats a jdm sohc zc?

u myt be confusing that to the dohc zc..

I always thought that the zc was a dohc engine? didn't know there was a sohc.. lol

zc's are basically a single block, there is a zc DOHC head that will fit on it, (looks exactly like an LS swap) but yeah..

zc's come in both dohcs and sohcs

You can't swap a dohc head onto a single cam block. They're not the same block.

In fact, I'm pretty sure the only D-series that's not called a ZC in Japan is the D15B.

someone said they look like LS's but i don't know about that. take em out and compare!

except only dohc zc head fits on dohc zc block, and sohc on sohc. the dohc head doesnt fit on any d-series that wasnt dohc from factory

You have s SOHC ZC, so why wonder about cams for a DOHC? (confused)

i was going to run that sohc zc block and get a dohc zc head... but that doesn't work.. so i guess its back to porting the d15 head we have laying around the shop... and ending up with 11.5cr lol
