1993 Del Sol 1.6l SI - Starting issue
What's up all, its been a while since i've been here but i have a small concern.
I have a 93 del sol with 180k miles on it. I tried cranking it over but no go. I hear the starter spinning but it doesn't crank the motor. The person i purchased it off of said they just replaced the starter not too long ago.
Does anyone know what it could be? defective starter? distributor? alt? fuses? solenoid?

how's the battery? if the battery is good check all your ground and power connections, there is a possiblilty the the starter isn't engaging to the flywheel, but try the cheaper things first
If the starter is indeed spinning, somehow its not engauging power to the flywheel. Take the starter off and look at the flywheel, if its teeth are good then probably just a bad starter.
x's 2, I'm with him, i had a problem with my friends car and they did'nt have the starter in flush and it would engage but wouldn't come out and hit the flywheel. So check and see if it sets flush on the tranny.
