hhmm well im reading that the k24a2 redlines at 71000 when the type-s redlines at 83000 when you swap the block with the head can you only rev to 71000? or up to 83000? thanks i haven't seen this question around

if you put a k20 head on a k24 block you should be able to rev to 8200

Some people take it to 8200+. Kpro stops at 7600 in the preloaded calibrations.

An occasional trip to 8000+ probable isnt too bad, but the pistons speeds are pretty high so damage is more likely.

isnt the k24 a longer stroke too? or is it just a bigger bore?

yes its a long stroke. 99mm. and they have a slightly larger bore.

Reving that 99mm stroke to 8000rpms produces piston speeds of over 5000fpm... deep into the unreliable zone. As an example; its about the same pistons speeds you would get if you were to rev the K20 to 9200rpms.

Lightning the whole rotating assembly is the path to go before some ugly things happen.

sure wish my car would rev to 71,000! image 83,000! would take a day to redline
