So, in a hypothetical situation, what would happen if I were to hypothetically claim a car as a "gift" from a "friend?"

Would the DMV be able to investigate if it looked fishy? Would I be in any s**t if my "friend" had also agreed that it were a "gift?"

 

its $30 as i remember to transfer as a gift, something like that. and i think it has to be same last name, im not sure on last name do.

oh alright thanks! The only reason i was asking was because on the dmv transfer form it asked if it was a gift then on a section it asks what the relationship between you and the person is "(e.g., parents, spouse, friend, etc.)"

t\Thats why i was wondering if i could claim it as a gift and get away with it lol again thanks for the help. and if anyone else knows anything else, like maybe what could go wrong, that info would help too.

ive done it like 3 times in the past 2 years when ive traded cars...they dont say anything u only have to pay like 30 bucks for registration...
