iNTEGRA C-FIBER DOORS??
i wouldnt get cf doors if your simply trying to cut weight on a street car theyll get hit while in parking lots etc, not pratical for dd at all. Make sure to do the simple things first: take out the rear seats (if you want), strip the trunk of all plastic lining, get rid of the spare tire (if you want, better have AAA), get a puddy knife and heat gun and get rid of the sound deadening material that lines the metal floor of the interior body, replace the stock hood the damn thing weighs 35~ lbs replace with fiberglass or cf, etc, theres alot you can do, just depends on what youre doing with the car.

Whys it not practical for daily driving? The only reason you see "carbon fiber" lips and hoods chipping and cracking is because its only fiberglass with a carbon fiber overlay. If you can find a true carbon fiber product, its pretty damn strong. Why do you think they use it on airplanes, rockets, and high end sports cars?

it's not an issue of the carbon fiber being strong enough, it's the clear coat that's gonna crack. not to mention carbon fiber doors would be pretty expensive. it's just not a smart idea. doors are the most prone area to dents and dings. why risk a couple hundred dollars every time you need to re-clear coat your doors if they're just gonna get dinged again the next week? you would be better off with carbon fiber front end parts, trunk if it's a 4 door, and pulling the weight out of other parts of your car, like the interior and trunk. plus, if you need horsepower that bad then spend the same money from the cf doors on some engine performance.
exactly... as i said n my post, dding exposes your car to way too many hazards to be running around with $3000 doors, so you can get mad when somebody scraps it, or the sun damages the cc over time. leave the doors replace hood and strip the interior
im not saying the OP should get CF doors, I'm just saying if you get a TRUE cf product, it'll be strong and last long. And as long as it gets a good clear coat, it won't fade for a long, long time. How many VIS hoods do you see with the clear coat faded?

Nobody makes carbon fiber door for the DA. Reason being because there isn't much interest in them.

There is a company that makes carbon fiber doors, fenders, hood, hatch for Integras, http://www.seiboncarbon.com/
But here is the issue: Its not about the chipping clear coat, its what happens if you should get in a car accident! Those doors will shatter in a heart beat, and you will be completely exposed! Its a very bad idea to put them on a DD.
OOps, I just chacked out their site, and it looks like they do not make the doors for the DA any more. Try calling them for more info, maybe they got a set laying around.

The matter is the people who drive and hit your door at parking lot or somewhere.

For a regular car yeah people won't notice you. But if you were more like a exotic look people would think twice of hitting you.

Im with you on the cf door. Have you ever taken the doors off they are heavy. Maybe we should express interest in the cf doors and someone will make them for us.

I think if someone drives into your car door in a parking lot, you're screwed regardless if its a carbon fibger door or not

I would be far more worried about a side impact and the effect a carbon door would have on my safety. I seriously doubt they would be legal in any part of North America because of the safety standards involved. I can see them being used as a race only application but no way that's going to fly on a DD
I work on airplanes, And i have NEVER seen true CF car parts. You know much it would cost to build like a door with just CF. How many layers it would take. Everything that is CF that we have on our cars has fillers, like fiberglass. B/c it is so much cheaper to do that.
i completely understand that most "cf" car parts arent really 100% cf. I'm just saying that its really dumb for him to get cf doors made for a dd. I dont even think this is really a weight issue now from reading a few comments it simply sounds like a rice issue. ive given the op ways to cut weight that dont require buying "cool $3000 doors" made of cf so they can get beat on in parking lots, etc. Hell... gut the doors and take out the window motors. just think about the practicallity of what your doing to your car and why youre doing it, not the "coolness" of cf parts.
i dont think its really an issue of ( i want my car to weigh 50 pounds less) i think its more of ( ill be the first guy on my street with carbon fiber doors) which is the same reason we all get fancy rims and lower our cars just right. performance is just a cover up for lookin fly

Nope, they don't make killer CF doors for the DA. That car weighs like what, 2600lbs? CF hood, and remove the spare, get lighter rims is your best bet.

True OP seems a bit overboard on the CF issue like he's just heard about it. But real CF **** is strong. Its real on my hood but fake on my friends lip because real cf **** doesn't crack that easily.

I dont think it would cost $3000 even for a four door.My friend did CF doors deck lid, hood, and dash on his corvair and all that cost him $4000 and it was all custom. But Im in MO and I dont know what that kind of thing costs where you guys are.

Maybe to some, but the actual point of lowering your ride height is to lower the center of gravity and increase stability, and the rims (if you have quality ones) are made to withstand race stresses from lateral gs and lighten the rotating mass to improve braking distance, support for better tires, bigger brakes, etc. Yes, some do it to "look fly" but many do it for performance and I'm still not sure which the op has in mind being that he hasnt responded to any of this
If the op is simply going for style with his dd then as i said, he should state that and probably not do it but thats my opinion, and its not my money anyway. I'm not attacking I'm just stating there are other things he could do with the money and time. He said he wants weight reduction, i listed stuff to do. He never said anything about style. I was under the impression that he did like every DA owner... Opened the door one day and realized they weigh a million lbs and is trying to think of ways to make the car lighter for auto x or something. Anyways, the op hasnt even replied back to the thread and i dont even think he looking at it for everyone's opinions

im well aware what suspension and rims do. what im saying is the majority of people dont do it just for performance with most of us its a little of both, and cf doors are going to do about as much performance wise as cleaning your car out and/or kicking out your gf. also i think if this guy was this much into weigh reduction he'd already have cf hood, hatch and everything else so he probaly wouldnt even have asked and just done it. thats just me though....
