Default Downpipe to Catalytic Converter With B16

Just wondering the different methods every who swapped a B16 into their EF. Which way is the easiest? Test pipe? Cut mouth and extend from Cat? Is there a different Cat that you can use?

Reason why I ask...the easiest way I can see is to make a test/straight pipe. I just can't find anyone here in north SD (Mira Mesa) that will make one for me.

Please post any ideas or email to calejandro27@yahoo.com.

Thanks for any help!!!

I used a stock integra xsi/rsi 4-2-1 header that came with my swap mated with a catco hi flow cat and thermal r&d exhaust.

It is the easiest. I got it when I got my swap, but it smelled horrible...and I felt bad for polluting.

I ended up putting an stock integra cat in when I got my exhaust, just had it shortened a little.

Thanks for the info. I think I want to go with a hi flo cat. I figure that my car won't get that much louder. I have the HKS on and it's quiet as stock. Putting the hi flo cat won't make my car extremely loud, will it?

I just bought my EF back about three weeks ago. It's still under construction but I hope to be done with it in a couple of weeks. It's an 89 EF with a SiR front conversion. I have a B16 just squeezin an 80 shot, cam gears, MSD with Blaster and NGK wires. I also have HKS exhaust. I am installing Del Sol seats soon and putting in the shop to be repainted. After that, I'll probably get some Slipstreams and CTR or ITR cams.

I just got back from the muffler shop. I just got the mouth of the stock cat cut and extended. It was an easy fix. He charged me 40 bucks. All is well now. Thanks for all the info.
