Got the SI running (kind of) in the DX. It runs at about 3500 with what sounds like a miss. It will increase revs smoothly above that but not idle.

One swap wiring mystery. The fast idle control solenoid did not mate with any connector on the dx so is not connected. Is this perhaps the problem?

The IACV plug is the same on the DX and Si. You just need to extend the wires about 6 inches to allow it to reach the IACV on the back of the Si intake manifold.

The IACV plug is round and has two wires. To be honest with you I forgot the wire colors. I think on the '88-'91 Civics/CR-X it is blu/yel and yel/blk.

Be sure to replace the distributor cap, rotor, and plug wires with new Honda parts. Also get some new spark plugs.
