trying to ref'd h2b
i'm trying to ref'd my h2b on my 94 civic si. anyone think i would be able to pass, i have stock everything, with the stock usdm h22a ecu. also who has done it before, i would love tips as well. thanks.
if everything is stock and is of the same year as the car or newer it will pass. Taking into consideration that the cat is good. Also you must run you purge valve. They are very strict about that. I have a BAR'ed 93SI with GS-R. But that doesn't matter they all follow the same rules.
everything is hook up right, i have a ref'd gsr into my 94 civic si as well. i don't knoe what rparedo1 was thinking about swapping tranny to ls when tranny shouldn't matter. i'll try to go ref'd it and hopefullie i'll pass, if i do, it'll be great having a legal low 13's car.
you cant ref a motor that isnt offered from honda.. also if the ref is a jackass he will hammer you with the tranny. example: you cant legally bar a gsr with a b16 tranny. it has to be a full gsr or in your case a full h22. good luck though
i thought the tranny did matter as you may pass the visual test but when it come to the emissions test, your gonna wanna try to run a tranny with gear ratios just like the the the h22's stock tranny so that you put out the same emissions as if the h22 tranny was their.

Thats false information. I know for a fact you could pass a B series with different B series transmissions (LS, GSR, B16, etc). I am just not sure about the H2B, but i dont see why it should matter.

with a b-series tranny, isn't he creating higher emissions faster than what the stock h22 should be making ? i thought it was the tranny that controlled how fast the your rpms goes up ? for each crank doesnt the b-series tranny turn over 2 time, but with an h-series it turns over one time ? if im wrong plz correct me

Im kind of confused by this. If your talking about gear ratios thats totally different then engine rpm and emissions. Yes (depending on gear ratio) he could reach a certain RPM faster but either way it goes hell still emit the same emissions no matter what trans he has. All the trans does is control speed. When manufactures tune there engines for emissions they do it on an engine dyno which isnt connected to a transmission at all, its just 1 long gear.

oh ok, so as long as he has all the emission equipment hook up, their shouldn't be any problems. He's still going to out put the same emissions as a stock h22 at the same key points when he's tries to ref the motor.
talk about that, im about to swap and ref too but i was planning for h23 tranny sense i drive 60mil a day everyday, hope it wont cause a problem sense its h series. good luck passing ref
well over here at my place, the ref'd guy doesn't even care about what tranny i have, he looks for emissions stuff to be hook up right and that's it. i pass my gsr with my jdm b16 tranny.
