Default Help...big rattle

Everytime i start my car...something rattles back and for by my timing belt and alternator crap...all my belts are tight and everything seems to be in place...im hoping its nothing from my block...but if it was a rod knock everytime i rev the motor it would knock...so that cant be it....it doesnt seem to affect the drive at all but its giving me headaches....any ideas...cuz im out of ideas...im hoping its just not something with my block or head..help me..

forgot to mention..it only rattles when i start the car...once it's started then all you hear is the motor

could possibly be your header or exhaust? did you check those?

its not those for sure...its coming from where all my belts are...i was messing around there last night and it seemed to disappeared..so i hope it resolved it...

you might want to check your heat shield on the cat cuz that is the same problem i am having and it does sound like it's coming from the timing belt and alternator area .

im positive its coming from where my belts are but then it went away...hopefully for good...

ok it didnt go away..everytime after i floor it, it rattles when i start it up...if i dont floor it then it doesnt rattle when i start it...am i just stupid or am i just stupid

what kind of knock is it like plastic on metal?
metal on metal? plastic on plastic? can you tell it would help
does it sound like a mechanica knock?

sounds like a metal on metal knock....i swear it sounds like when a pulley is loose but then i checked and everything seems legit to me...givin me headaches over it

could it be a bad water pump? not overheating but thats what one of my buddies said..
