Default d16 in a 01 lx

kinda weird question i know but my friend threw a rod in a 01 lx. now is it possible to easily take a motor out of like a ek and put it in there without modifying much?
any help would be a appreciated

you could do it with enough custom work but it wouldnt be street legal because the motor would be older then the chassis

so really a d16 block wouldnt just bolt up to the d17 tranny and then a little wiring work?
