Default Can I Unplugging ECU connectors?

Can I unplug the 3 harness connections to the ECU without having to reprogram it or the key? I am trying to find the ground wire to the coil of the main relay to put a kill switch on it and would like to probe the wires in the harness.

Yes you can unplug the ECU without the need to reprogram anything.

I believe the ECU is plug and play unless it is a new ECU. New ECU's need to be initialized at the dealer.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong here.

Thanks
