Default b series questions...

i don't want to sound totally stupid or nothing.. i come from a ford background.. ie.. mustangs 5.0l and 4.6l.. quit working for the ford dealer.. and got a job at a honda/ acura specialist.. bought a 91 crx.. and have been toying with the idea of doing a b-series swap..

are all the b-series blocks the same deck height?

which would be the best b-series head to start with.. i was thinking that the port sizes might be different from say a b16 to a b18 to a b20

also.. which head has the smallest cc combustion chamber? i was thinking that a b20 with a 16 head would be a great all motor build.. also.. which trans would be the best to go with.. thanks in advance..

B20/B18A/B is taller than a B18C1 which is taller than a B16/B17.

The B16 and B18C1 heads flow almost identical.

I do concur sir, gibsanez is indeed correct.

B16 head flows slightly better and has better porting / intake options, IMO.

That is basically correct - You can check out more in the All Motor section too

As for the tranny I prefer the GSR for it's "all around" gear ratio. Opposed to the long gears of the LS and ultra short S4C and YS1
