Default Question for n/a & boost civs

well I'm gonna make a year with my civic in sept and I have no decided to start doing some motor work since, since I've made a couple of friends who know about cars and engines only prob is they know mostly about b series and or dsm and diesel cars.

I'm one of the few around here in my town with an 07 si 4dr so I get alot of ideas and stuff from ppl for wat I should do with my car. Now I kno parts are expensive but Im willing to save up but I don't want to spend over 20k on this project niether

Here are some opinions I was given:
go with a small turbo with stock internals
Put I/e/h with kpro/hondata + dyno
I was told ITB's
my fav of all is k24block with a k20 head mayb turbo - very expensive
and last but not least build a head and a block with better internals - very expensive

Anyother opinions u guys can give or if any1 has tried thses projects if u can tell me how the turn out was like with horses and torque wise especially if any1 has tried the k24 with k20 head

Any brands or prices or websites would help alot thanks Honda tech

No KPro for the Si. That's the trouble with any 'serious' mods. There's not alot of options for tuning. If you want to make more power, stick with a supercharger from comptech or a turbo from greddy. Proven to make power, sold by reputable companies.

or you could just use the "search" button and find out that people have been asking these same questions since this sub-forum was created here on honda-tech. people arent answering because they are not in the mood to flame you today. you can research all this stuff yourself, then come back and ask specific questions to get more replys. when your asking half a dozen questions in one thread, people dont know what to respond to first.

my opinion is n/a with itb's is teh secks.

I say buy the kit get a custom oil return line and buy the aem f/ic system ant u are all good to go. It makes some great power. Theres no k-pro for are cars yet so u have to use some other way

i'm assuming he meant mutual funds? even then, he has to start with thousands to make any significant money.

maybe he was born into money. you never know. his parents might have started things for him when he was younger and they gradually let him get control of things.

but i also, demand pics of this rebuild.

and u change your screen name.
cuz the #1 rule in this section of the forum is that there will only and always be one and ONLY one rico.

they did they were very nice like that, I've owned 4 high mileage cars that have all crapped out on me because they were beaters that I bought with my own money, the plus side of having a beater is you actually learn a thing or two about working on cars, which seems to be lacking on this site. My parents never got me b-day presents or anything instead they had an investment account which I gave 2/3 of every paycheck to since I was 13 years old. when I turn 18 the account is in my name completely. I'm definitly not some spoiled little bitch trust me on that one

my dad donated 1k a year since I was born and I've donated about 6k myself, so you figure ~20k, and my investments are WAY above average so I got real lucky, paying somebody who is very good at their job has paid off.

You do know.. you don't donate to investment accounts? lol. Donation is for charities...

So which mutual funds do you buy? I'm planning on getting into some. I have a buddy who says it's been doing well.

why would you pull money from a mutual fund to buy a car. hands down, a car is the worst investment ever and to pull money from an investment account to buy a car is down right stupid. but it's your money i guess. not to mention the tax on pulling out money before the account maturity date. you are obviously no where near 59.

who do you invest with? I'd like to know out of curiousity because ever since our recent economic decline my stuff hasn't been doing too good. only upside to that is i'm buying cheap in hopes of it going back in the direction it was 5 months ago.

please school me young one...you're obviously doing something I'm not.

Do the reflash like everyone else with like an intake or something. If you don't know what it is look it up. If you have extra money.

A "small" turbo will not do. The K20 will choke out a "small" turbo before it hits 4000rpms. That means you will be boosting then, it won't be putting out enough. Therefore, you should do some research and see what turbo will support how much the engine flows. There are greddy turbo kits out there for the 06+ si but they're in the $3000+ range I believe.

You can go all motor, and get better cams, upgrade the valve train, high compression pistons but hell, everything will cost you a couple grand if you're really into it. And if you're not familiar with cars, it'll cost more to pay someone to do it for you.

I know I'm [freak]ing retarded right?? lol, all my friends give me **** for it but whatever, it was actually an account for college, the guy I have do all my investments is named Jim Lennon, he's really conservative but he's done real well for me so I can't complain. and about the donation comment, you're a funny guy eh?? I'm sure we'll get along just fine then , take full advantage of our economy, but the property thats being foreclosed on real cheap, then resell it, remember there is always going to be a need for real estate, the markey will ALWAYS go up in the grand scheme of things. good day sir. and I may be young but I aint stupid like 99.9999999% of people out there,

you are retarded. if i was your dad and i knew you blew your college fund on a car i'd kick you out the house. see, thats where it seems kinda fishy. I could never trust my 17 year old kid to have full rights to savings accounts i've built up for them. I for damn sure aint giving my daughter any rights to her stuff until she graduates college. can you even do that as a parent? give rights to accounts like that to minors?

also, college funds and mutual fund/invesment accounts a different. if it was a college fund then you were investing but not in the way you make it out to be.

yah you gave a name of your broker but what company does he work for?

and the whole real estate bit....are you trying to sounds smart?

*why am I even worried about this kid?* im out....reply if you like....im done.
