What rods for all motor
planning to all motor my b18c5. gonna bore it out to 85mm and stroke it to 89mm.
I got skunk pro2 camshaft, cam gear, and valvetrain.
I got 440 RC injector and a hondata s300.
I need to get new rods so I was wondering what rods I should get? Forged or ls rods with arp bolts? Since my chankshaft is a lightweight eagle crank, I was gonna get the h beam rod from eagle wich are about $300 dollars. Think they can upgrade to arp bots at no cost! Sounds like a good idea. What do you think?
Any suggestion for pistons is asppreciated.
I wanna get arp head studs also. I need the gsr 208-4303 ones right, for my type-r engine?
Thanks for any help anyone>>>..

Guys, looking at his post, i Cannot see him going to a set of custom pauters or custom cunninghams or Carrillos.
to the OP, i suggest just gettin an off the shelf LS Carrillo ProA rod. pn is HN-B18<A-55394H
These are nice and light rods that can stand up to some abuse and they arent into the expensive custom/titanium rod price range.
yes, the 4303s are the correct for your app.
also, if you want a nice piston design, pm me. I can get you the piston design we used on my big motor. similar setup to yours except we used a 95 crank.

H22 rod... and yeah they are pretty beefy... but damn they weigh nothing.. we had to notch some parts of the block slightly to make the other set we had on our B series... but they are great rods.. and not expensive at all either...

ya aluminum rods arent that much actually. but i think the reason that most are turned off from it is the maintenance. Some guy who doesnt open up motors to check on the bearings isnt going to want an aluminum rod in a motor for the next 2 years and not open it up to check on the bearings.

true but the OP sounded like he wanted to build a race motor... and with any race motor i wouldn't let it go 2 years without a tear down and rebuild... regardless of what rods i had..
but yeah Alum rods do require more maintenance.. i usually tear down the motors we run every season regardless of what rods or setup.

I like the sound of Carrillo Pro A-Beam Rods, strong and light. They look like they cost about 675$. Anyone know a good place I can get them at, maybe for a little less?
Was thinking about getting this power to the ground too. Like with help from stiffer motor mounts like hasport stuff? And maybe an axle upgrade? I seen a deal with the hasport motor mounts and axle for under 500$? What do you guys think, thanks for all the help..

just for reference: Carrillo Pro-As for GSR are about 411g. MSRP is $930. We usually sell them at about $750/set
In comparison, Carrillo Pro-H for GSR with Carr bolts are 505g. MSRP is $1450. Sells about $1120/set.

I need the LS Carrillo ProA rod. pn is HN-B18<A-55394H for my setup. I seen them for 675$ at import performance parts.
Was just checking to see if anyone had a part # for a Cunningham version. So I could compare.

They have a new rod at carrillio. Carrillo Pro SA-Beam Rods (Type SA) how does this compare to the normal Pro A? the Pro SA is just a little more expensive.
$675 is a good price, but i doubt that is correct. The pricing has changed in the last few months and its gone up more than that. If they sold at that price, I'd order from them and not direct from Carrillo like I usually do.
The Pro-SA is not new. Its been out for a couple years at least.
the Pro-SA is a step above the Pro-A in how much HP it can handle. Its basically for street turbo setups or sub 700hp turbo cars. It has a 3/8 WMC rod bolt by Carrillo. the weight is 487g for the Pro-SuperA(SA)
LS weights are 421g for Pro-A and 490g for Pro-SA

Not Cunningham pins - RLZ pins!!. That's Brad's signature magenta layout fluid in the ID of the pins.
