Default H22a4 civic transmission opinions please

That gear inside of the prelude transmission, ( the one that turns the VSS) it quit turning, thus a check engine light i cannot erase code and no vtec. I have a 95 accord transmission sitting in my shead, my question is, How hard will i kick myself for putting the accord tranny in place of the prelude tranny? Im strapped for cash, but if its a really big deal, should i just spend the money fixing the prelude tranny?. need oipions please.

I'd try posting dual posts in the Accord and Prelude forums, and be sure to give them the year/tranny codes of possible.

Sometimes the little gear that spins the VSS is a separate vinyl-type gear that's changable, but sometimes it's molded into the dif itself. you could probably go as far as swapping the diffs out if you needed to.

You'll hate the Acoord gearing though - unless it's a temp measure I'd skip the entire swap idea. I say pull them apart and see about swapping diffs, or just the little VSS drive gear on the diffs.

k, ill try that then, the trannys are both on the ground, i was just gonna put the F series in and sell the car, but if i keep it... I dont want to kick myself for having an F tranny. I hope i can stab that damn tranny back in, holly hell its a hard tranny to do with it in the chassie of the civic. next time i pull whole motor.
thanks for tips
