PS pump leaking on '97 accord
My Accord has 170K km and I noticed the rear of the PS pump has "a bit" of oil on it. The rear plate is "damp" with oil all around, with some oil at the top rear of the pump body. A bit of oil is also on the botton 2 bolts at the rear plate. The fluid container has gone from full down to below the "low" mark in the year that I have owned the car. I just purchased some Honda PS fluid and topped it up.
I noticed oil on the top of the alternator so that is not good.
Should I just replace the o-rings (from Honda) OR the PS pump with a new one from Honda.
I live in the Middle-East and while I can get the o-rings from Honda (and get them replaced easily enough), I will still have a pump with 170K km on it. I go through over 20K km a year and expect to keep the car for another 5 or 6 years..

About 95% of the power steeing pumps in the accords from 90-97 leak. Most you can just leave alone and there ok. Do you have to add fluid to the resevoir? If so how often are you adding fluid? If you haven't even added any fluid yet I would just clean every thing and top off the fluid. If your re-filling it more then every month then I would consider replacing it.
