Yeah. I made a post a while ago about getting my exhaust to basically not have that usual honda exhaust sound. Everyone knows what i mean.
I was thinking.... like 3-4 resonator's on this bitch... My buddy welds, and i was thinking. I am going to have him make me an exhaust anyways. Why not have him make my DP and put straight pipe to like 3-4 resonator's and then around the rear axle and to the vibrant/some other turbo muffler.
From my understanding. resonator's deepen/quiet down the exhaust note by absorbing some of the frequency or some bullshiz.
Gimmie some input on this matter. It might seem silly but i don't want to sound like a honda at all. It's annoying and something i don't want to be categorized with.

1. All those resonators will look ridiculous when viewing your car from the side.
2. I don't see why all those resonators would have the effect your seeking. If it's a high revving 4 banger, it's for sure gonna sound like one. And if the first resonator 'absorbed a certain range of sound frequency,' what are the next resonators going to absorb? Another frequency? Know what I mean? Doesn't seem like that's gonna pan out.
3. Get ready to scrape on big speed bumps regardless of what angle you take 'em on at! Lol. Well, maybe not.
4. Anybody who is going to 'categorize' you for having a Honda that sounds like a Honda isn't going to be swayed just because you went extreme-o to change the tone of your hooptie. Get a GOOD muffler, one long resonator, and be done.

Get a 14" magnaflow resonator and a magnaflow muffler, my car is very quiet and not raspy at all. I get lots of compliments on the tone, it sounds very euro, not rice at all
haha please don't get a nice magnaflow resonator and a nice muffler (stay away from cannister styles if you want to get away from that "honda sound"
)
)
What are some non-canister type mufflers? You mean twin-loops? I notice those sound like my ITR muffler with Magnaflow resonator just a little less mean in the high-rpms.

vibrant turbo muffler in flat black is what i plan on using. its sleeper looking and doesnt look ricer at all. i just dont want any high pitch's at all in my exhaust tone.

Anyone know what is the longest resonator i can buy? I am pretty sure they are basically straight thru with just some sound obsorbing materaial wrapped around it. so no back pressure for a turbo set up.

don't need a resonator, but it does deepen and get rid of some of the ricer sound that comes from the honda motors. thats why i was asking if i put like 3-4 of them on how it would sound/would it make sence to do.
i had hollowed out cat and no resonator with turbo muffler on non turbo car and the exhaust was just TOO loud for me.

talked to my buddy today who is making my exhaust. I think im going to run a straigh pipe 2.5in and then 2 resonators 2.5in and a vibrant mufler. All 2.5in exhaust.
I really don't think 2.5 to 3in is going to be much of a difference in sound or performance. My car is going to be a 400whp DD.

Pricey, but you might want to look into a Hytech twin loop. I'm running a 2.5 in exhaust, Rage headers, Carsound Cat, 14" Magnaflow res, and one of them with great results. It has a nice growl when accelerating, but you can't even hear the exhaust just cruising. It still "sounds like a Honda" but like everyone said, I really don't see how you would be able to change that. Good luck!
BTW, Magnaflow makes a 22in resonator too if you're looking for longest.

I've got this muffler 2.5" catback piping w/ 17" 2.5" resonator.
Trust me, with this setup, you won't have that raspy (gazillion bumblebee attack) sound. It sounds deep and low. Give it some throttle and it can get loud. At idle, it just purrs like a sleeping kitten.

--- twin loop muffler isn't a straight thru design. im boosted so i don't want any back pressure.

--- Idk if i want 2.5 or 3in yet. im not sure on how its going to effect the loudness of this exhaust. thats why i would rather just go overboard on the resonators and not have to do it twice. once and done. I need to find out where to buy some long resonators.... idk if brand really matters.
