Default Rules Updates for Honda Challenge

Nothing major, just cleaning up some stuff we missed.

1. Fire bottles: change size to the correct 2.5lbs
2. Re-massaged the "holes in the car for brake ducting" stuff
3. Mentioned that overprepared H1 cars have no place to bump
4. Couple grammatical issues

I guess that's it. We're close enough to "right" that the changes are becoming pretty minor.

Only the ones that you are NOT driving.

HC still has some gay *** rules with little competition of people behind the wheels. And what is up with covering up SCCA stickers on cars? HC is a brilliant idea dont get me wrong. You don;t need some soup **** running it.

SCCA made all four bangers from honda in the ITA class (SportsCar, July 2002)

Little competition of people behind the wheels? What on Earth could you possibly be basing that on? So John Whittaker and I going into turn 1 side by side on four consecutive laps is little competition?!?

And what is up with covering up SCCA stickers on cars?
Do you want people to be confused when they see pictures of the cars as to which sanctioning body runs the series? If you want people to follow the series, they have to know who is running it!

HC is a brilliant idea dont get me wrong. You don;t need some soup **** running it.
Who Karl?!? Really friend, you should know what you are talking about before you post.

fst- ( your name is?)

please don't try to disparage the ECHC when it is clear you don't have a CLUE about what your talking about.

The HC rules are clear, well written and unlike the SCCA, the cars are very well grouped.

If you have problems with a specific rule list each one individually and address them to Karl and Scott. I'm sure they will explain them to you.

BTW. YOUR WRONG about the SCCA and all Honda "4-bangers" in ITA. Please go re-read the rule books. Two words: Del sol Si and GSR.

John- who is pissed he will never get the 5 mins back of his life, reading and re-reading fst post trying to make any sence of it.

I mentioned this to Karl via AIM but honestly you guys will probably laugh at me its ok I am used to it, so here it goes

Acid Dipped bodies, I know this might now work for a unibody but would you ever do this to lighten your car, I mean it is amazing what that does. To give you an example my buddies 5.0 cop car, striped and acid dipped went from 2800 pounds to 2300 sound like I am bsing, well I am not. And that is a lot of weight for a car to loose...well that is my thought for today. Have fun with it

<---running back to Race Playschool to be with people of his own intellegence in this matter....hahaha

assuming that is right - how safe is that car, now that the body has been weakened so dramatically? Would you want to be sitting in that car if you spin in turn 1 at Summit, and have 5 cars coming at you going 130mph?

I'm not Captain Rule Boy, but my vote is that it should most definately not be allowed.

The SCCA WDCR basically ordered people to cover up NASA stickers at the last MARRS race. If they say no NASA stickers, more power to covering up SCCA stickers at H-C (and NASA) races.

The dip only takes the impurities off the body like paint, bondo, etc...it is later treated after the dip.

The dip only took off 200 pounds and it was structural sound for the most part, It was strengthened some how...He later sold the car and it went on to Race in the American Sedan Series if I am not mistaken.

I am just going on what I saw and what I hear...but yeah I would not want to have someone coming at me at 130mph in car that I do not know the "soundness" too. I clearly see your point.

Screw you guys. I'm going ITA racing!!!

What a tool. I hope this was one of you just messing around. Otherwise it's just plain sad.

Oh, Corey. If you want out of H2, you need to stop winning races and qualifying on the class pole. That's really not such a good route to getting moved down a class.

George P. Cillinger eh? I'll go ahead and check the DC Region SCCA membership directory tonight. I gotta tell you though - the name doesn't sound familiar. My guess is this person is some little wuss who doesn't have the gonads to stand up and say what he thinks unless no one knows who he is.

It is also quite obvious that he hasn't got a clue as to what he is talking about here . . .

UPDATE: Here is what the SCCA had to say in July . . .
[/i]The following items have been
REFERRED to their respective
advisory committees or TABLED
pending receipt of additional
information.
[/i]

. . . . .

GRAND TOURING
2. Allow 92-95 Honda Civics to use
alternate later model engines from
Honda or Acura cars. (Huber) The class
philosophy is to not put new genera-tion
motors in older body style cars.
James) The performance potential of
this engine is too great.

ITS
1. Reclassify all 4-cylinder cars from
ITS to ITA. (Gauldfeldt) Reclassification
of cars is done on a car-by-car evaluation

SHOWROOM STOCK
SSB

1. Correct specifications on the
Honda Prelude SH. (Manning)
Previously addressed in the prior Tech
Bulletin.

IMPROVED TOURING
1. Reclassify the Honda Accord from
ITA to ITB. (Mellor) The car has been
determined to be correctly classified
after extensive dialog with Advisory
Committee.

There is the pending action to move all 4 cylinder to ITA from ITS but that is only pending and it is also subject to individual cars so there is nothing that guarantees that all Hondas will end up in ITA.

My suggestion is that you learn to read d00d!

This is not a sticker war. SCCA requires NASA stickers covered. NASA doesn't care about SCCA stickers EXCEPT at the HyperFest where there was a lot of money spent on advertising and there was press coverage. NASA paid for the advertising, so we required the stickers to be covered for the event and it was discussed with the drivers who questioned it.

Hmm ... sounds interesting.
But I still think my D16A1 powered 87 CRX Si is gonna be a bit out gunned without any forced induction. Ed

IP addresses don't give you a name. At best they will give you a city and nothing more.
