Is it safe to run a stock motor on stock hondata basemap?
How good are the new basemaps? I just bought s300 and had it installed in my ecu, I just downloaded the stock gsr basemap from my s300 and my car fired up great. Can i DD it or is this still just a simple map to get me to the dyno? Thanks
BTW in a few weeks I will be boosting so thats why I have the s300, but for now it's completely stock.

every engine is different when it comes to base maps. My mate's del sol ran absolutely great for 4 years on a base map. although it was crome he ran with.
on the other hand my car ran very very lean with my base map even though it was the same basemap my friend had.
but my tuner was down the block so i just took my car up to 40mph, threw it in neutral, and coasted in.
Just run her and check your a/f. alittle rich is all right. lean.. is generally bad. especially when you dont have a wideband to monitor.

I know most basemaps you purcahse are just to get the car running but i was hoping maybe the stock motor would be ok on the Hondata stock GSR basemap
Couldn't they just take it from Honda?

i thought base maps were for the sole purpose of dyno tuning the car not for driving the car at all but just so the car runs so it can be dynoed?
