Default ys1 tranny witch one do i have?

i got a cable tranny the sticker says ys1 but from what i learned it can be a ls b16 or even grs tranny. so how can i tell witch one it is? it does not have lsd.

if it's off you can do the counting the turns or something like that. there's a way to do it. but if it's already on and you're driving it around just see what your rpm is on the freeway. when i'm going 80 i'm at 42, and i have a b16 one.

you can tell if its a gsr tranny when you drive on the freeway and try going 80mph and your at around 4k rpm then that is a gsr tranny plus most gsr tranny has that brownish gold around the vin number

werent all early ys1 trannies labeled ys1, so you could have ls, b16 or gsr.

i have a j1 and at 70mph i am almost at 4100 my firend bought a ys1 and he thought it was a gsr until he put it in and at 70mph he was at 3200 so it was a usdm b18a trans

open it up and count the teeth. only way you'll know for sure
