Default pipe questions

I'm looking to get a slip on for my bike and I had some basic questions. I've narrowed my choices down and I'm looking at a 2 brothers slip on. The quality looks good, is that the case and how loud are they?

I'm looking for more sound obliviously, but I am not interested in sounding like a motogp bike when I'm just riding around. I'm signed up for a trackday and need to be under 95 decibels, would this be too loud?

What bike and what pipe?

I had a two bro's on my old f3 and it was very loud. Deeper tone than most pipes, but still very loud.

Sport rider did a slip-on test using a stock R6 a few years back, and all the pipes were over 95dB (average) by their measurements. The Akro was right at 95. Two bros was 101dB. A lot of track bikes have aftermarket pipes, so I think you will be fine.

*edit* The stock R6 pipe in the magazine test was 90dB (average of idle(73), 7k rpm no load (94), and 7k rpm full load (102dB))

thanks for throwing those stats in there fatboy

2bros is definitely one of the louder pipes on the market. but like it was mentioned before, most people at the track are running aftermarket pipes to begin with, so i think you'll be fine. their quality is decent. what made you choose them?

I have an FZ6 which cuts my choices down. Leo Vince makes one, but its pretty spendy, and I don't like the way it sticks out(underseat exhuast). There's some other brands like scorpian, or devil, but those seem kinda cheap and I bet there plenty loud. Two bros seemed like something in the middle and I had seen their pipes before. Do they really scream on a normal 1-2?

Good info, I double checked its actually 100 dbs, so I think it'll be okay.

Thanks to free two day shipping and only having two finals, I decided to take a break and put it on (two bros slip on). It went together smooth, it came with an undertail kit, but I was unimpressed with the wiring (waaay too short and cheap connectors). With some bending by hand and some grinder action managed to reuse the stock liscense plate holder and turnsignals. If you didn't know any better, you'd think it was stock.

As for the sound its deep at idle and up to 7K, then it screams like you would expect. Much deeper down low than I expected for an inline 4. Its not annoyingly loud, just right for my tastes. As for power it feels like its got some more down low, but nothing earth shattering. I'm happy with it.
